TLDR - I love this machine. It is an absolute joy with which to work. "Failed Cut" is quickly falling out of my vocabulary. Final product is immaculate. Configuring it is very easy. The "Test Cut" feature is smart, and effective. If you're coming from another brand of machine, you may feel resistant to embrace the Juliet workflow. I did. However, after doing it just one time it all clicked, and I really can appreciate it. I am literally 2-3 times more productive with this machine and still improving. I am making print and cut laminated stickers on holographic waterproof vinyl. I use the GIMP for all my image editing, then drag and drop into LeoDesign software. Really, my Leo workflow is pretty transparent in that the effort that goes in between finishing the image/design in GIMP, and weeding/harvesting the stickers does not really stand out in my mind. It cuts so fast, and precise, just brilliant. Siser really have something here, in my novice but rapidly improving, humble opinion. A Comparison - I got into making stickers about 6 months ago, using a Cricut Explore Air 2 on loan from a friend. 2 months later after enjoying some success with the loaner, I purchased my own CEA2. In the beginning I made single color stickers with permanent vinyl but eventually found that color printed stickers on holographic vinyl with protective laminate were my jam. I had good results half the time but the amount of wasted materials and failed cuts was frustrating. The factors contributing this problem were limitations of the Cricut software, and the poor function of the light sensor. Jump forward to two days ago, and after wasting several hours, and a shameful amount of materials, I was genuinely about to throw my CEA2 out the window, for real. Seeing the fault in that plan I instead began to research other cutters and the Siser Juliet quickly caught my eye. Claims of high accuracy, speed, and low noise interested me, not to mention a feature to make use of scrap materials. When I saw it was on sale at Michael's for a hundred dollars off, I jumped in the truck, cruised to town and bought the last one in store. I just completed my first print-and-cut moments ago and this machine is awesome, impressive. It is simply on another level compared to the Cricut. I sum it up as the difference between toy-grade, and pro-hobby-grade. With the Juliet, I can fit almost twice as many stickers on the sheet than I could with the Cricut. Cutting once gets the job done, as opposed to having to cut twice on my old machine. I definitely made a great pick with this cutter and will never look back. With the comparison done, I'll now focus strictly on my experience with the Juliet. The Juliet - Not realizing I failed to remove all the protective packaging, the drive belt skipped violently upon the first power on. I shut it off and contacted support via the chat bubble on the website immediately. That was at midnight, and early the next morning I had a reply from Pam pointing out exactly what I had done. Prompt, kind, and effective support erased the discouraging initial power up experience. Keep in mind, this is a new machine and the documentation and software are excellent but still being developed. Pam was more than receptive to my feedback about better detailing the locations of the protective packing in the manual. I couldn't have asked for a better support experience. I design my stickers in GIMP so I only need the Siser software to send the designs to the cutter, and it worked perfect for this. My current designs are wildflowers extracted from photos I take while out walking with my dog. I don't rely on any of the seemingly abundant tools for editing in Leo so I hope to see a batch import feature in the future, but there are workarounds for this. NBD. After viewing two video tutorials I loaded up my first cut. Within minutes the machine was busy at work cutting. Ecstatic with the results and experience, I was eager to write a review to help others make their way to the same enjoyment I've had. If you're reading this, I believe you've found your machine. Dive in, and enjoy. It's fantastic, and will only get even better. Hats off to Siser.
